Tetra Tech invites you to consider a rewarding opportunity as a Civil / Water Resources Engineer with Tetra Tech's team of scientists and engineers. We are currently seeking a Civil / Water Resources Engineer with expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modeling and developing water resource-related engineering designs. Position responsibilities include proposal preparation, project management, water resource related modeling and designs, reporting, and moving projects efficiently to completion. The Civil / Water Resources Engineer will manage projects commensurate with their existing training and experience, while being encouraged to take advantage of Tetra Tech's project management training program. Collecting field data, modeling water resources and designing solutions are key components of the position. The successful candidate will work across natural and anthropologic-impacted systems in a diversity of market sectors. Developing water resource designs that encourage resiliency of infrastructure and watersheds to changing climatic conditions is required to meet our clients' long-term needs. Utilizing Tetra Tech's significant resource base across our global footprint using technically advanced scientific, engineering, and sustainability focused assessment, planning, and design tools and services is a key aspect of the position. This position includes a flexible hybrid work setting and schedule to be worked out with your supervisor, but the candidate must reside within 50 miles of the local Boise, ID, Helena, MT, Salt Lake City, UT, or Spokane, WA offices.

Essential Job Functions:
We are seeking an energetic individual interested in pursuing and supporting a variety of challenging projects. The successful candidate will be asked to take on varying levels of responsibility on projects ranging from field investigations, modeling evaluations, design and report preparation. The Civil / Water Resources Engineer will have the opportunity to lead as a Project Manager on a variety of hydrological and hydraulic modeling projects and some civil design projects. Market sectors the Civil / Water Resources Engineer will work with may include state and Federal funded watershed resiliency and impact mitigation, military facility, mining, oil and natural gas, commercial development, environmental cleanup, and industrial projects. Tasks will include, but won't be limited to: Site reconnaissance and on-site evaluation of various governmental, commercial and industrial sites. Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater conveyance and retention/detention design, stage-storage and water balance modeling, open channel flow, erosion, and sediment control. Engineering design development. Preparation of reports and technical memorandums. Development of engineering cost estimates. Development of bid specifications and contract documents. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
B.S. Civil, Environmental or a related field. 10+ years of engineering experience. Professional Engineering (PE) license required. Education and work experience should be related to one or more of the following areas of civil/water resources engineering: civil design, steam and floodplain restoration, infrastructure design, storm water management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, cost estimation, environmental regulations, remediation, water balance modelling, heavy earthwork construction, water quality. Experience should include the fundamentals of civil grading and drainage, hydrologic modeling, and hydraulic analysis. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required with ability to quickly pick up proficiency in Civil 3D, HEC programs, and other standard programs. Ability to oversee and/or perform field data collection and construction management. Strong skills and proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft-based software, including MS Excel, for data analysis. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to summarize scientific data and model outputs in concise, readable language. A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. in Civil Engineering is preferred. Proficiency in hydrologic modeling, hydraulic analysis, and civil design programs such as HEC, AutoCAD/Civil3D, SWMM, HY-8, AutoCAD Storm & Sanitary Analysis, etc. desired. Experience or familiarity with other software such as ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and GoldSim is highly desirable. MSHA and/or
OSHA HAZWOPER
certification preferred, or ability to acquire.
