Job Description

Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an engaging teaching opportunity as a Language Arts instructor, supporting high school students with their English language and literature skills. This contract position begins August 17th and continues through May 28th, offering a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week at a single building conveniently located near Fairbury, IL. As a valued educator, you'll facilitate comprehensive ELA curriculum, inspire a love of reading and effective communication, and guide students through critical thinking activities. Your school day will run from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, allowing for a structured routine and meaningful interaction with your students and colleagues throughout the academic year.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid teaching license with a certification in General Education for ELA or Language Arts at the high school level Demonstrated knowledge of high school English Language Arts standards (literature, composition, grammar, and critical reading) Ability to create engaging lesson plans that accommodate varied learning styles Strong classroom management skills and positive rapport with adolescents Experience with differentiated instruction and assessment practices
