Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence and dignity Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual's needs to encourage positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors Support communication efforts using techniques like American Sign Language or other augmentative methods to enhance understanding and interaction Collect data on progress, seizure activity, and behaviors to inform care plans and track developmental milestones accurately Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medication administration records Drive clients safely to appointments, community activities, or outings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and transportation guidelines Collaborate with families, behavioral health specialists, and educators to develop and implement individualized support plans that meet each person's unique needs Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques is beneficial Home and community care experience demonstrating caregiving skills in diverse settings is advantageous Familiarity with assisting with ADLs, medication administration, data collection, and documentation practices required for effective support roles Strong communication skills including the ability to engage with individuals using various methods such as American Sign Language or visual supports Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for safe transportation responsibilities is necessary Experience working with children or in childcare environments adds valuable insight into supporting young clients effectively This role is designed for compassionate professionals eager to foster positive change while developing essential skills in caregiving, behavioral health, and social work.
