  • Full-time The Opportunity Precious Plate is hiring an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to join our team.
As the EHSM, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of a complete plant Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program for our Wheatfield, NY facilities to minimize all safety risks and reduce potential liabilities. This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday from 8am
  • 5pm, reporting to the Human Resources Director.
Pay Range:
$87,000
  • $110,000 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all EHS procedures and establishes and promotes the maintenance of a safe, accident-free and healthy work environment, thereby eliminating or controlling hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations which may lead to human injury and or property damage.
Identify opportunities to improve safety trends based on performance data and on-the-job observations, implementing corrective actions as needed. Provide support for all incident investigations, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), reporting, and corrective actions. Regularly review and manage compliance systems, ensuring tasks are completed on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as required. Assist in environmental permit compliance through sampling, inspections, reporting, and use of compliance management tools. Monitor site-specific OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements, along with company standards, ensuring regulatory compliance through proper documentation and proactive measures. Facilitate training programs and conduct monthly safety meetings at assigned locations, delivering impactful presentations that improve employee awareness and adherence to best practices. This position will also support the implementation and sustainment of a 5S program at required sites. The position works closely with the operational team to implement standards and effective training across all sites. The Sustainability piece of this role will require closely working with the business level leadership to carry out Sustainability initiatives at the site level. Creating awareness and an engaging culture for these initiatives to thrive will be paramount. Conduct sustainability assessments and audits to identify opportunities for improvement and develop action plans. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable practices and meet sustainability goals. Monitor and analyze sustainability performance metrics and prepare reports for management. Communicate and engage with employees at all levels to promote a culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor`s degree in Environmental Studies, Occupational Safety & Health or related field 3-5 years of safety, operations, or distribution experience within an industrial environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees and management at all levels. Must have solid knowledge of federal, state and local EHS laws, regulations, rules and standards, as well as a firm knowledge of Workers' Compensation administration. OSHA certification preferred. Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST); or Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
