Environmental Laboratory Chemical Technician Clinical Lab of San Bernardino, Inc. - 3.0 Grand Terrace, CA Job Details Full-time $18 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off 401(k) matching Qualifications Customer communication Customer service Bachelor's degree Attention to detail Organizational skills Time management Full Job Description Job description We are an environmental laboratory looking for a full-time, entry level technician in our organic chemistry division. Shift hours are typically Monday thru Friday 6 am thru 3 pm; some overtime may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assist in set up and maintenance of instrumentation and related laboratory equipment. Prepare samples for GC, GC/MS, and HPLC analysis according to method requirements and standard operating procedure Prepare standards, and reagents for approved organic analysis according to method requirements and standard operating procedure which include but not limited to volatiles and semi-volatiles Enter analysis results into Laboratory Information Management System. Accurately maintain and record both electronic and hard copy data. Meet regulatory and project specific quality control and turn-around times. Must read, interpret, and communicate test data. Perform annual Performance Testing (PT) study required by California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation (ELAP) Ensure adherence to EPA and Standard Methods guidelines and test methods. Assist in maintaining adequate testing supplies. Ensure that testing chemicals are used and handled in a safe manner. Ensure the lab in kept in a clean and orderly manner.
OTHER DUTIES
Clean and maintain work area. Responsible for all lab instruments and tools in his/her workstation. Maintain safe, clean and orderly workstation. Effectively communicate with technicians within department and from other departments. Other duties as assigned. Skills Prior computer usage in a commercial/business setting. Attention to detail; ability to follow standard operating procedures. Ability to interact with clients and staff members in a professional manner. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise. Excellent organizational skills. Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Customer service attitude. Bachelors degree in chemistry or related field.
