Environmental Manager - Mining Operations On-Site | Kearny, Arizona Base Salary up to $155,000 DOE+ benefits Salaried, full-time Are you an experienced Environmental Leader ready to take ownership of environmental compliance at a large-scale mining operation or a Senior Environmental Engineer looking for a step-change role? We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for a hands-on Environmental Manager to lead environmental programs at a complex, long-life site in Kearny, Arizona. This is a site-based leadership role with real influence—ideal for someone who thrives in regulated environments, enjoys working closely with operations, and can confidently engage with regulators, consultants, and senior leadership. The Opportunity As Environmental Manager, you'll administer, oversee, and direct all environmental activities to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Reporting to the site leadership team, you'll play a key role in permitting, compliance strategy, audits, inspections, and long-term operational planning. You'll be both strategic and hands-on, translating complex data and regulations into clear guidance that supports safe, compliant, and efficient operations. What You'll Be Responsible For Lead environmental compliance with
EPA, ADEQ, US
Army Corps of Engineers, MSHA, and local agencies Manage and negotiate environmental permits, including new applications and modifications Advise senior leadership on environmental requirements for proposed and ongoing projects Supervise environmental monitoring, sampling, data analysis, and compliance reporting Develop and implement environmental compliance programs and management systems (EMS) Prepare and manage capital and operating budgets for environmental programs Oversee consultants, contractors, and professional services related to environmental projects Lead environmental audits, inspections, and regulatory meetings Manage the Drinking Water System, including sampling, plans, and compliance activities Prepare environmental and emergency response plans and deliver environmental training Support land use coordination, rights-of-way, leases, and community involvement initiatives Participate in strategic planning for long-term mining operations Lead, mentor, and manage Environmental Department staff What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (Civil, Geology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences also considered) 7+ years of environmental engineering or environmental management experience , Open Pit Mining essential. Deep knowledge of environmental laws, permitting, and compliance frameworks Experience with environmental sampling, monitoring, and technical reporting Strong technical writing and communication skills Solid project management and organizational skills Working knowledge of mining, milling, and leaching processes Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Certifications or experience related to Clean Water Act, Waste Management, Air Quality, and general environmental compliance EPA Method 9, RCRA, and MSHA training (or willingness to obtain after hire) English fluency at CEFR B2 (Upper Intermediate) or higher Why This Role?
