Job Description
Job Overview In this role you will be a part of the Site Investigation & Remediation business unit, supporting environmental projects that involve field studies, report preparation, budget management, and interaction with coworkers, clients, subcontractors, and regulators, primarily in the Kentucky UST program. Projects will include groundwater, surface water, soil, and air sampling; subsurface site characterizations involving drilling, and soil classification; and hazardous waste site characterization and remediation. Responsibilities Provide field and office support for retail petroleum environmental projects. Role will be 70% field work (outside, in various weather conditions) requiring travel across the state of Kentucky. May be asked to work extended hours, when required and on short notice. Construction related field events Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 50lbs, several times per day. Due to client requirements, the candidate must pass a company background check, including driving record and drug screening. Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation . Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, models, cross-sections, boring logs, and figures for the interpretation and/or presentation of data, findings, and/or analyses. Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include, but are not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, location data, laboratory documentation, and logbooks. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Skills A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline. This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee will be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of this policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request. Experience performing soil logging. Experience performing soil, sediment, soil gas, and/or groundwater sampling. Familiarity with various drilling techniques and experience with installation of groundwater monitoring and/or remediation wells. 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) Knowledge of KY UST regulations.
