Job Description

Sussex County Community College is looking for a full time Education Opportunity Fund (EOF) Coordinator. The full time Education Opportunity Fund (EOF) Coordinator develops exemplary support services that provide all students an opportunity to succeed in a higher education setting. This individual will supervise and promote the EOF mission on campus assuring that EOF services are received by the students eligible to receive them. The EOF Coordinator provides support for educational initiatives, support services, and leadership development activities that assist students to improve their chances of success in specific majors and careers fields and prepares them for the changing world of work and to assume leadership in their communities and the state. This individual also collaborates with Campus Life on additional services such as nutritional needs and other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains solid links with area high schools, community agencies, and organizations in order to recruit and retain EOF students. Conducts presentations on college admission, financial aid procedures, and the EOF Program eligibility requirements and services at on- and at off-campus visit sites. Reviews financial aid packages for EOF students to determine the appropriateness and adequacy of financial aid awards. Assists in the selection process of EOF students and preparation of roster for EOF Certification. Assists students throughout registration process including coordinating EOF student payment process of tuition, fees, and related expenses with Financial Aid Office, Bursar s Office, and the Bookstore. Coordinates EOF activities including end of the year programs and Summer EOF Program. Conducts academic, personal, career, and financial aid advising with EOF students with assistance from part time EOF Counselor throughout the year. Plans and implements workshops and activities to build EOF students study skills and leadership. Monitors EOF student progress. Train and Manage EOF staff. Assists EOF Director with the assessment and evaluation of all program components and completion of required grant reports. Communicates with faculty, staff and administration about the academic support services offered in EOF and the challenges EOF students face. Attends on- and off-campus workshops, training programs, and professional development conferences (e.g., EOF NJ Statewide conference). Organizes and oversees all aspects of the annual First-Generation celebration and the Tri Alpha Honor society. Serves on college committees, governance structures, open house events, other committees and recruitment efforts, as needed, to advocate for and represent the needs of EOF participants college wide. As a grant-funded position, the individual in this role acknowledges that the scope of duties of this position are subject to any changes, additions or modifications to the role of coordinator, as dictated by the grantee. Other duties as assigned in order to support the mission of, and access for, EOF participants.
EDUCATION
- List the level of education, certification(s), License(s) or designations in order of most recent: Master s degree preferred.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Knowledge of grants Knowledge of onboarding and student registration Knowledge of budgets Knowledge of evaluation methods Experience in developing and evaluating materials Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the use of technology Strong organizational skills Ability to work independently Detail oriented. Performs all other duties as assigned or as may become requirements of this position.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience in working with grants or working in a EOF program or Advising Center.
