Job Description
Late Afternoon/Evening Staff - Bed & Breakfast (Saugatuck) We're looking for a warm, capable check-in and evening presence for our Saugatuck bed & breakfast. We are looking for someone who makes guests feel genuinely taken care of from the moment they arrive. You'll handle check-ins and fulfill guest requests, such as starting the evening bonfire in the outdoor fireplace. In addition, you will prep (cook, bake, and set up) for the next morning's breakfast. You'll be washing, folding, and stocking linen and terry. This is a standout opportunity for someone studying hospitality who wants real inn experience and something meaningful on their résumé. Competitive pay with monthly tenure "bonus". So, your wage increases based on tenure, up to a limit. Key Responsibilities Greet and check in guests in a way that reflects the inn's commitment to warm, personal service Handle guest requests and questions throughout the evening with professionalism and a positive attitude Bake for the following morning's breakfast service (recipes and guidance provided; your own ideas welcome) Manage evening laundry: washing, drying, folding, and restocking linen/terry Maintain a clean common area space and working environment Maintain a calm, welcoming atmosphere in common areas during evening hours Know what's important to escalate to the owner in the evenings. Innkeeper lives on site. Requirements Prior guest-facing experience in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality/tourism setting is required Genuine, positive attitude: guests should never sense stress or frustration Confident, proven baker: a portfolio, photos, or references demonstrating baking ability are required Experience in hotel management software preferred, or a quick learner with strong computing skills Trustworthy and composed working independently in the late afternoons & evenings Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly as part of normal duties Reliable, punctual, and self-directed Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays Comfortable with physical work including lifting, bending, and being on your feet Reliable transportation Hospitality or culinary students encouraged to apply Schedule late afternoon to evening hours.
