Position OverviewThe Events Sales & Services Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of catering and conference operations. This position drives revenue growth, strengthens client relationships, and ensures flawless service delivery while mentoring and developing a high-performing team. The ideal candidate brings vision, creativity, and extensive experience managing complex events in a luxury resort or hotel environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Strategy, Planning & ExecutionOversee the planning and execution of large-scale conferences, weddings, and social functions.
Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, ensuring all details exceed expectations.
Develop and approve comprehensive proposals, budgets, and timelines.
Direct logistics across departments (culinary, operations, audiovisual, rooms) to deliver seamless events.
Sales, Business Development & Client RelationsDrive new business through proactive promotion of resort venues and services.
Lead site visits, presentations, and contract negotiations for high-value clients.
Cultivate long-term client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Partner with sales and marketing to develop strategies targeting corporate, social, and destination events.
Leadership & Team DevelopmentProvide leadership and mentorship to the catering and conference services team.
Oversee staffing, training, and professional development to ensure service excellence.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and guest-first service.
Serve as the primary escalation point for client and operational concerns.
Financial & Operational OversightDevelop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance goals.
Monitor event profitability, ensuring alignment with resort revenue objectives.
Negotiate vendor agreements and oversee service contracts.
Implement revenue strategies that maximize profitability while maintaining luxury standards.
Quality Assurance & Guest ExperienceUphold and enforce the highest standards of hospitality and service.
Conduct post-event reviews with clients and staff to evaluate success and identify improvements.
Continuously explore and introduce innovations to enhance the event experience.
Resolve client concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience).Event Leadership:
Minimum 57 years of progressive experience in catering and conference services within a luxury hotel or resort, including leadership responsibilities.Expertise:
Strong knowledge of event planning, food and beverage operations, and large-scale event logistics.Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and manage a high-performing team.Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to influence and build client trust.Business Acumen:
Proven success in driving revenue growth and managing budgets.Technology Savvy:
Proficiency in event management software, Microsoft Office, and POS systems.Flexibility:
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.Physical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to stand and move for extended periods and transition between multiple event spaces.
Capable of lifting 2550 lbs. as needed.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Manual dexterity and sensory abilities required for effective communication and equipment operation.
