EXPERIENCED REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN OR TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT

_____________________________________________________________________________________ Exotic Animal Veterinary Center is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician OR Technician Assistant to join our practice. Our independently owned and operated facility is a drama free, paperless location in Pasadena, CA. We are a 100% avian and exotic animal hospital with 6 full time veterinarians. We provide cutting-edge, high-quality medicine while educating owners on proper care and husbandry. We offer a collaborative, supportive, team environment that many other clinics strive to achieve. Our team of veterinarians, technicians, and receptionists are very knowledgeable and are excited to welcome new members to the team. Our technicians are responsible for managing and directing client flow through our hospital. They assist the veterinarians with performing venipuncture on a wide variety of exotic species, performing digital radiographs, monitoring anesthesia, and much more. •Requirements•Ability to work a full-time schedule of four-10 hour shifts per week Must be able to work weekends ( Saturdays are required to start ) RVT experience preferred ; exotic animal experience preferred, TECHNICIAN

EXPERIENCE IN A VETERINARY HOSPITAL SETTING REQUIRED

Must possess exceptional communication skills Must be detail oriented and a self-starter Must be able to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced work environment Must be able to work as a team •Primary Responsibilities•Knowledgeable and able to discuss husbandry for a variety of exotic species (if you are not experienced with husbandry on all species, we will train you) Ensure doctors are moving through their appointments in a timely manner by assisting and routing patients Assist in restraining animals for procedures performed by veterinarians or other technicians Perform in-house laboratory tests, completing requests for reference laboratories Process pharmacy prescriptions Keep track of inventory to ensure efficient ordering Assist in medical or surgical procedures Perform medical procedures under the direction of the veterinarians Maintain hospitalization and treatments records for patients Admit and discharge patients ensuring clients are educated on medications, dosing, and follow up care Administer SQ, IM, IP, and IO injections and fluids to patients Properly clean, prepare, and sterilize surgical areas, instruments, and equipment Participate in staff training and meetings Benefits include: Competitive compensation 401K company match Health, life, accident, vision, and dental insurance AFLAC insurance Employee Assistance Program Paid vacation & paid sick time Paid holidays Paid birthdays off Discounted veterinary care for personal pets Continuing education allowance Uniform allowance
