$20-$25 per hour depending on experience About the Job We operate 8 Zaxby's restaurants across the Covington, Monroe, and Conyers area and we're looking for an experienced handyman to help keep our locations well-maintained and running their best. This is a flexible part-time role — hours range from 20 to 40 per week depending on workload and your availability. We'll work around your schedule. You'll follow a regular rotation through all 8 stores, working from a checklist on each visit and handling repairs as you go. No two days are exactly the same, but the work is steady, familiar, and satisfying for someone who takes pride in keeping things right. What You'll Do Preventative Maintenance Inspect and lubricate door hardware, hinges, closers, and walk-in cooler door gaskets Check and replace HVAC filters on a regular schedule and flag anything that looks off Inspect caulking and seals around sinks, prep surfaces, floor drains, and wall junctions — and re-caulk as needed Walk exterior lighting, parking lot, and drive-thru lighting weekly and replace burned-out bulbs Check ceiling tiles for staining or sagging and swap them out before they become an inspection issue Monitor floor drain covers and grease trap access areas and flag any buildup Repairs & Upkeep Fix minor plumbing issues — leaky faucets, running toilets, slow drains, loose fixtures Address interior paint touch-ups, wall patches, scuffed baseboards, and general cosmetic wear Repair or replace door hardware, towel dispensers, toilet seats, flush handles, and similar fixtures Walk restrooms on every visit — caulk, grout, fixtures, door locks, and overall condition Check exit signs and emergency lighting to confirm everything is lit and functional Address trip hazards — loose mats, cracked thresholds, anything that could cause a fall Documentation Keep a simple log of what was completed, what was flagged for a vendor, and what needs monitoring Give store managers a heads-up on anything that needs attention before the next visit Requirements Hands-on experience in general maintenance, repairs, or the skilled trades — no degree or specific certification required Comfortable with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, caulking, and general repairs Own basic hand tools Reliable transportation — role requires travel between 8 locations in Newton, Walton, and Rockdale County Able to work independently, manage your own schedule, and stay organized across multiple locations You notice what needs fixing before someone has to tell you Nice to Have Background in facilities maintenance, property management, or commercial construction Experience in a restaurant, retail, or food service environment Familiarity with health code and safety inspection standards What We Offer $20-$25 per hour depending on experience Health Insurance Flexible schedule — 20 to 40 hours per week, days that work for you Mileage reimbursement between locations Friendly, small-business environment with consistent recurring work No nights, no weekends required
