Facilities Technicians are responsible for a variety of routine and semiskilled tasks involving responsibilities for the upkeep and building maintenance of the Weiler facilities and grounds. This job requires a strong customer service focus as well as an improvement mindset thru the use of 6S in all aspects of the operation. All Facilities Technicians will follow SOP's and Safety standards, processes and recommendations to improve and optimize facility operations. This role performs a variety of light maintenance tasks and assists with basic carpentry, HVAC, and general building systems to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Perform minor repairs, such as fixing broken locks, damage to walls, painting, changing light bulbs (interior and exterior), etc. Perform routine facility PMs such as changing filters for HVAC, testing emergency lights, routine safety inspections, etc. Maintain all building essential equipment and systems Perform necessary cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sweeping and trash removal for offices and lunchrooms Clean and sanitize lunchrooms, common areas and surfaces (such as handrails, knobs, chairs, tables, etc.) Service, clean, disinfect and supply restrooms. Gather and empty trash containers and dispose of in external waste container, compact cardboard. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Stock areas with appropriate supplies. Follow daily schedule & make recommendations for improvements Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments Interact and as required by qualification/experience level direct the activities of outside contractors when necessary to maintain facility. Any other tasks deemed essential and safe to keep the operation running efficiently at all times. The ideal candidate will possess the following: High School Diploma or equivalent. Be able to use hand tools, power tools, power cleaning equipment and measuring tools Ability to work from work orders and /or verbal instruction Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken When promoted into higher job levels, provide own tools such as: Wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, socket sets, allen wrenches dial indicators, calipers, micrometers etc. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. regularly and 70 lbs. on occasion, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment. Must be able to stand/walk at least 95% of the shift Must be able to work at heights and on ladders Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally (with the use of lifting devices), and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Preferred Skills:
Exposure to light maintenance, carpentry, or facility repairs Basic familiarity with HVAC systems (filter changes, general understanding of system function) Prior experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or facilities environment This is a day shift position•7:00 a.m.•3:30 p.m. Additional Details
