The Facilities Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day execution of facilities operations across Copeland's Sidney campus, consisting of multiple buildings totaling approximately 1.3M square feet. This role serves as a working supervisor, combining hands-on field leadership with direct supervision of facilities personnel and contractors. The position ensures that facility systems, infrastructure, and services operate safely, reliably, and efficiently while translating site and enterprise-level objectives into daily execution. SUPERVISOR, You Will:
Field Execution & Daily Operations:
Lead and coordinate daily facilities operations across all Sidney buildings, ensuring timely execution of maintenance and service activities. Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day facility issues, prioritizing work and ensuring rapid resolution. Maintain a strong field presence to monitor ongoing work, validate quality, and remove execution barriers. Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex building system issues, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
Leadership & Team Management:
Directly supervise the Facilities Maintenance Lead and Facilities Coordinator, providing clear priorities, guidance, and performance feedback. Establish daily and weekly work plans to align team efforts with site priorities. Develop team capability through coaching, training, and accountability for performance. Foster a culture of safety, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Contractor & Vendor Management:
Own execution and performance of all site service and maintenance contracts, including janitorial, landscaping, snow removal, life safety, and technical services. Coordinate contractor activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with scope. Monitor vendor performance against defined service levels and drive corrective actions when needed. Support development, refinement, and rebid of service contracts in partnership with Global Facilities. Maintenance Programs & CMMS Execution Lead execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure asset reliability and minimize downtime. Ensure accurate and consistent use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work order management, asset data integrity, and reporting. Drive improvements in maintenance planning, scheduling, and backlog management. Support implementation and ongoing use of enterprise maintenance systems and standards. Safety & Compliance Ensure all facilities activities comply with OSHA regulations, local codes, and company safety standards. Lead site-level follow-up from inspections, audits, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) walkthroughs. Identify and mitigate facility-related risks through proactive inspections and corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance requirements. Facilities Manager Support & Project Coordination Support execution of small to mid-sized facility projects, including space modifications, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements. Provide field-level input into capital planning, budgeting, and prioritization based on site conditions and risks. Partner with operations, engineering, and other site functions to ensure facility support aligns with business needs. Act as site lead for facilities operations in the absence of a dedicated Facilities Manager.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
7+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Demonstrated experience leading contractors and/or small teams in a facilities or maintenance setting. Strong working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems. Experience coordinating maintenance activities and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to balance hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, construction management, or related field. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS). OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent safety training. Facilities or maintenance certifications (FMP, CFM, or equivalent).
Onsite Work Arrangement:
Core schedule: Monday - Friday, minimum 40 hours per week. Role requires a significant on-site and field presence across multiple facilities. May require support during off-hours, weekends, or emergency situations. Work includes both indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to typical industrial conditions.
