Job Description

Company Summary Grace Fellowship is a Christ-centered, non-denominational, Christian church in the Capital District that believes in the authority of the Bible. All of the Church's teaching focuses on integrating the truth of God's Word into our daily lives. Grace Fellowship's mission is "to glorify God by making more and better disciples." It's Grace Fellowship's goal to see our community continually moving forward in their journey towards being Christ-centered. Grace Fellowship has 3 locations; Latham, Halfmoon, and Saratoga. Position Summary The Facility Closer ensures the Latham campus is safe, clean, and properly secured during afternoon and/or evening activities and small groups. This role maintains a presence in common areas, supports room setup and teardown, performs light custodial duties, monitors security systems, and ensures the building is vacated and locked at the end of the night. By providing a secure and welcoming environment, the Closer enables the church's programs and ministries to run smoothly. The expectation is that this position typically works 15 hours per week, which is a Category B position for the church. Category B means the incumbent will work less than 20 scheduled hours per week. Essential Functions Remain present in lobby and common areas during evening small groups and activities to provide support, monitor facility needs, and ensure spaces are adequately supplied and functional Secure all building entry points once participants have entered their scheduled meetings, following established safety and access procedures Perform light to medium custodial duties in lobby, café, and main restroom areas during and following small groups and activities to maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness for ministry use Assist with room setup and teardown following small groups and events as needed, including basic furniture arrangement and resetting spaces to standard layouts At the conclusion of all activities, ensure the building is vacated, lights are turned off, entry doors are secured, and exterior gates are closed and locked in accordance with closing procedures Monitor building security camera systems during evening activities to support facility safety, identify concerns promptly, and report issues to appropriate staff or emergency services as needed Respond appropriately to facility incidents during evening activities, including contacting designated church leadership or emergency services when necessary Perform other related security and facilities support duties as assigned in support of campus operations Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs) Required KSAs Knowledge of basic building security, facility closing, and custodial procedures Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures consistently and reliably Ability to work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, and congregants in a ministry environment while maintaining professionalism and discretion Ability to communicate effectively with staff and congregants, including reporting safety concerns clearly and promptly Attentiveness, vigilance and situational awareness to ensure safety and respond quickly and calmly to issues as they arise Current active member of Grace Fellowship, or willingness to become a member and actively support the mission, values, and beliefs of Grace Fellowship What We Believe Grace Fellowship expects all staff to align with our nine (9) statements of faith. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office and ministry environment Transportation to work location Weekend and evening work required This position requires regular in-person work on campus Occasional exposure to minor cleaning chemicals and equipment is possible Physical & Mental Demands Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods during evening activities May be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
