Facility Maintenance Mechanical Technician

Job Description SummaryThe Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.

Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systemsConduct regular inspections of facilities to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standardsRespond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairsMaintain and repair tools, equipment, and machineryPerform basic carpentry, painting, and general upkeep tasksMonitor building systems (lighting, heating, cooling, etc.) for efficiency and proper operationKeep accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairsCoordinate with external contractors and vendors when necessaryEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred)5 years' experience in facility maintenance or a related fieldWorking knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systemsAbility to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematicsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsBasic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems

Preferred Skills:

HVAC certification or relevant trade licenseExperience with preventative maintenance programsKnowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulationsStrong communication and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periodsLift and carry up to 50 lbs or moreComfortable working at heights and in confined spacesWork Schedule 1st shift may need to work weekends and be on call for facility emergencies.
