  • Full-time Job Summary Big Jim Farms is seeking a dependable, hands-on Farm Production & Grounds Manager to oversee crop production, animal care, grounds maintenance, equipment upkeep, and general farm operations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a wide variety of work, takes pride in maintaining a functional and well-kept property, and can independently solve problems in a fast-paced farm environment. The ideal candidate will have practical agricultural knowledge, strong handyman and repair skills, and the ability to lead daily operational tasks while helping maintain the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the farm. This role supports both production agriculture and agritourism operations. Duties Oversee planting, irrigation, cultivation, and harvest operations Monitor crop health, pests, irrigation systems, and seasonal production needs Provide daily care and oversight of farm animals including feeding, watering, and maintenance of animal areas Maintain farm grounds, fencing, pathways, irrigation areas, and operational spaces in a clean and organized manner Operate and maintain tractors, implements, farm tools, and equipment Perform general handyman work and property repairs as needed Build, repair, and maintain farm props, displays, signage, structures, and seasonal installations Troubleshoot operational problems and respond quickly to maintenance needs Coordinate and prioritize daily farm tasks and operational workflow Supervise and assist production-side employees and labor crews when needed Ensure safe work practices and maintain a safe working environment Communicate regularly with ownership regarding crop status, repairs, operational needs, and scheduling priorities Assist with seasonal setup and operational support for agritourism activities and events as needed Experience Experience working on a farm, ranch, nursery, landscaping operation, or similar outdoor environment Knowledge of crop production, irrigation systems, and basic agricultural practices Experience caring for livestock or farm animals preferred Strong handyman, mechanical, and repair skills Experience operating tractors, equipment, and power tools safely Ability to troubleshoot and solve practical problems independently Comfortable performing physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials as needed Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks Leadership or crew supervision experience preferred Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative Valid driver's license preferred If you enjoy hands-on work, take pride in maintaining a well-run property, and want to be part of a growing family farm and agritourism operation, we'd love to hear from you.
