Join the Flowering Sun Ecology Farmers Market Team - Summer 2025 Flowering Sun Ecology is a small regenerative farm in Ellenville, NY. We grow a wide range of fresh mushrooms, seasonal vegetables, and medicinal herbs, and we focus on soil health, sustainability, and feeding our community with care. Our farm is also a place for education, gathering, and reconnecting with land-based ways of living. We're hiring for our farmers market team. We are looking for someone friendly, reliable, and enjoys talking with people about good food. You'll help set up and break down the booth, keep things organized and moving, and connect with customers about how to cook and enjoy what we grow. Markets can be busy and lively, so you'll meet a lot of people, answer questions, and share what makes our farm's food special. Days typically run 8 to 12 hours including travel, so it's important to be energized, self-directed, and able to stay focused through a full day. Flowering Sun Ecology Center, Ellenville NY What You'll Be Doing Representing the values, mission, and vision of Flowering Sun Ecology at the market Selling fresh mushrooms (solo) or vegetables (with another team member) Engaging with customers in a warm, informative, and efficient way Answering basic questions about mushroom cultivation, storage, and cooking Keeping a fast pace during rush times while maintaining friendly energy Loading and unloading the market vehicle, including tents, tables, and crates Driving safely to and from market (must have a valid driver's license) Problem-solving as needed (weather, delays, setup challenges, etc.) Working outdoors in all conditions (except for severe storms) What's needed Outgoing, friendly, and good with people Reliable and on time—you show up when you say you will Able to lift 30-40 lbs and work on your feet for hours Comfortable working in the sun, rain, or heat Interested in food, farming, mushrooms, and natural living Capable of independent work and staying calm under pressure Committed to the full season —we depend on consistency! Requirements Valid driver's license Ability to work most weekends Ability to travel up to 2 hours for markets (Paid) Full season commitment (May/June - Fall) Willingness to learn about mushrooms, cooking, and farm operations 3 references (2 must be past or current employers)
