We are a non-profit organization, the Santa Barbara Agriculture and Farm Education Foundation that operates a daily farmstand with produce from the Sweet Wheel Farms in Summerland, California. We host a daily farmers' market where we sell fresh produce directly to the community and chefs. Unlike many other farms, we grow our crops without using chemicals, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. Additionally, we have a weekly healthy farm food project that delivers food to over 1,500 people in Santa Barbara County. Volunteers assist staff in farming and loading bags that correspond to our weekly recipes. The farmer's market stand attendants responsibilities will include helping the customers. During greetings, you may inform clients about our nonprofit's mission to grow food without chemicals and our goal of providing food security to our community by making chemical-free food accessible. We highlight our daily fresh-baked goods and our fresh farm picks of that day. Assisting clients at checkout with the most professional attitude, as we are more than a grocery store and rely on our clients to keep our non-profit serving our community. Our farmer's markets attendants receive tips from customers. Throughout the day, we need the farm stand to be kept up with the utmost cleanliness, making sure everything looks good for consumption and that everything is stocked. In between we do things like winnow beans, make sure berries are in prime condition, and ensuring our fresh flowers have water, hydrate and pack the fresh herbs, and sort out produce.
