Maysville Community & Technical College Job Summary The Federal Work Study Program (FWS) provides funds that are earned through part-time employment to assist students in financing the costs of postsecondary education.
Job Duties:
Job Summary The Federal Work-Study Program at MCTC provides students with the opportunity to work part-time while attending school, earning wages to help cover educational expenses. Job Duties:
This job is a great way to gain work experience, build professional skills, and make a positive impact on campus or in the local community. Depending on where you're placed, you may help with tasks like office work, tutoring, customer service, or supporting community programs.
On-campus Work:
Assist in administrative duties, filing, data entry, answering phones, and providing support to faculty and staff.
Off-campus Work:
Support local schools, nonprofit organizations, or community centers by tutoring students, assisting with after-school programs, conducting outreach, or organizing community events. Students participating in federal work-study can work up to 20 hours per week , depending on their student budget and unmet need. Most students are eligible for awards that allow for 10-20 hours per week .
Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for the Federal Work-study Program students must: Be enrolled in at least 6 hours for the Fall and Spring semesters, and 3 hours for the Summer semester. Maintain a 2.0 GPA Declare a major (undecided majors are not eligible) Meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Maximum Time Frame (MTF) requirements each semester Have a completed FAFSA on file Have enough unmet need remaining in your budget for the current year (it may be necessary to decline loans). Kentucky State Law requires state and national pre-employment background checks as a condition of employment.
