Job Description

Revolution Global is seeking a Fertigation Technician to support the daily fertigation operations at our Delavan, IL Cultivation facility. The Fertigation Technician is responsible for executing irrigation schedules, nutrient mixing, fertigation system monitoring, and data collection to ensure optimal plant health and nutrient delivery. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of plant nutrition, irrigation systems, and fertigation processes, with a commitment to precision, cleanliness, and safety. This role works under the direct supervision of the Fertigation Supervisor and closely collaborates with the Cultivation team to maintain consistent and efficient fertigation performance across all grow rooms. Essential Functions Represent Revolution's core values: Community, Accountability, Revolutionary, Excellence. Accurately mix and prepare nutrient solutions following established facility recipes. Operate and monitor automated fertigation systems to ensure proper delivery of nutrients and water to plants. Conduct daily inspections of fertigation equipment, lines, and emitters to verify performance and identify issues. Monitor and record pH, EC, and runoff data for all fertigation events; communicate trends and abnormalities to the Supervisor. Verifying nutrient concentrations against feed recipes using EC/pH readings before tank delivery. Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of tanks, filters, injectors, and irrigation lines to prevent buildup and microbial growth. Calibrate meters, probes, and sensors on a routine basis and document all equipment maintenance. Maintain cleanliness and organization of fertigation work areas, equipment, and chemical storage. Safely handle, transport, and store nutrients and chemicals according to OSHA and IDOA standards. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all fertigation activities, including crop inputs, run-off data, and equipment cleaning/maintenance. Support system maintenance tasks, including filter replacement, tank cleaning, and pump inspection. Assist with troubleshooting issues under direction from the Supervisor. Follow Revolution SOPs and report any deviations, system malfunctions, and plant health concerns to management. Adhere to all PPE and facility safety guidelines while performing fertigation or cleaning tasks. Assist other departments, when necessary, as assigned. Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or related field; or equivalent work experience. Minimum 1-2 years' experience in fertigation, irrigation, or nutrient management, preferably in cannabis cultivation or a similar controlled agricultural environment. Required or Preferred Skills, Abilities, Licensures, and Certifications Working knowledge of plant nutrition, irrigation systems, and fertigation chemistry. Ability to accurately measure, mix, and apply nutrient solutions according to established recipes. Familiarity with data collection and interpretation for pH, EC, and runoff. Basic mechanical aptitude for operating and maintaining pumps, filters, and valves. Strong attention to detail and consistency in performing repetitive technical tasks. Effective communication skills and ability to follow precise written and verbal instructions. Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment. Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and cultivation data systems such as Metrc or Cannabis365. Willingness to obtain applicable Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) pesticide license Additional Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid state ID. Must be able to obtain and maintain state badging requirements to work in the cannabis industry (background check and state review required). Must be able to wear appropriate PPE including respirators, gloves, Tyvek suits, and eye protection. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Work in varying environmental conditions including high humidity, fluctuating temperatures, and exposure to fertilizers and cleaning chemicals. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and kneeling tasks.. Frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs; occasionally working in confined spaces. Must be able to wear full PPE and perform tasks safely under those conditions. Visual acuity and fine motor skills required for reading instruments, inspecting equipment, and recording data. Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and supervisors. Work Schedule 40+ hours weekly with flexibility for weekends, evenings, or holidays as required by cultivation operations.
