Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Fiber Internet Home Installer/Fiber Optic Drop Installer and be at the forefront of delivering high-speed connectivity to homes and businesses. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, splicing, and testing fiber optic cables, ensuring seamless network connections for our customers. Your expertise will help bridge the digital divide by providing reliable, cutting-edge internet services directly to customer locations. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to work with advanced telecommunication technologies, including fiber optics, Ethernet, and telephony systems, while supporting community connectivity initiatives. Responsibilities Install fiber optic cables from the main distribution point to customer premises with precision and care. Perform fiber splicing using specialized tools and techniques to ensure optimal signal quality. Set up and configure network equipment such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, and low voltage systems. Conduct thorough testing of installed fiber lines using tools like ohmmeters and network testers to verify integrity and performance. Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to mount equipment on walls or poles, ensuring secure and compliant installations. Troubleshoot network issues related to cabling, electrical connections, or equipment malfunctions in the field. Maintain detailed documentation of installation processes, test results, and service reports for quality assurance and customer records. Qualifications Proven experience in fiber splicing, network installation, or field service roles within telecommunications or related industries. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring. Familiarity with Cisco routers, Ethernet cabling standards, and telecommunication infrastructure. Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools such as cable cutters, crimpers, and drills. Ability to read technical diagrams and electrical schematics; electrical experience is highly valued. Knowledge of fiber optic testing equipment like ohmmeters and optical power meters.
