Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Field Geologists to support on-site operations for one of our valued mining clients. The Field Geologist is responsible for supporting drilling operations by working directly at drill sites, collecting and managing geological samples, and ensuring accurate data collection. This role is primarily field-based and involves long hours at active drill rigs, working closely with drill crews to monitor progress and maintain sample integrity. The Field Geologist plays a key role in the success of exploration programs by ensuring high-quality, reliable geological data. Key Responsibilities Work on-site at drill rigs to monitor daily drilling activity and progress Collect, label, and organize drill cuttings and core samples in accordance with project protocols Ensure proper sample intervals are maintained and accurately recorded Maintain detailed and accurate field notes, logs, and sample records Assist with basic geological logging (lithology, alteration, mineralization) as required Coordinate closely with drillers to ensure smooth operations and correct sample recovery Ensure sample integrity through proper handling, storage, and documentation procedures Prepare samples for shipment, including bagging, tagging, and maintaining chain-of-custody records Support QA/QC procedures, including insertion of standards, blanks, and duplicates Communicate regularly with senior geologists and project managers regarding drilling progress and findings Maintain a clean and organized work area around the drill sites Adhere to all company and site-specific health and safety regulations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field (or relevant field experience for entry-level candidates) 0-3 years of experience in mineral exploration or field geology preferred Familiarity with drill rig operations, sampling procedures, or mining environments is a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection Ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, etc.) Comfortable working at active drill sites around heavy equipment and noise Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks (standing, bending, sorting samples) Willingness to work rotational schedules and travel to remote project locations Must follow all PPE and safety requirements Majority of time spent at active drill rigs ("sitting on rigs") monitoring sampling and drilling progress Fast-paced setting that requires flexibility and responsiveness to changing drilling conditions What We Offer Competitive pay (DOE) and per diem.
