This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of large-scale construction projects, assisting with the installation and assembly of steel frameworks that form the backbone of commercial, industrial, and residential structures. As a vital team member, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled tradespeople, contributing to the successful completion of complex projects. This paid position is designed to develop your skills in construction while promoting safety, teamwork, and craftsmanship. Duties Assist with the handling, positioning, and securing of structural steel components using hand tools and power tools Support the setup and dismantling of scaffolding, rigging, and temporary supports for steel installation Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to aid in accurate assembly Operate heavy equipment under supervision to transport steel beams and materials on-site Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency throughout the project Collaborate with team members to perform construction inspections and quality checks during steel erection Assist in the use of construction management software like Bluebeam for documentation and project tracking Experience Previous experience working on construction sites or with structural steel is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings is advantageous Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and basic heavy equipment operation is a plus Knowledge of construction safety protocols and procedures is highly valued Exposure to related trades such as plumbing, electrical work, concrete forming, masonry, or roofing enhances your versatility on-site Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety awareness Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities to coordinate effectively with tradespeople and supervisors Embark on a rewarding career journey where your contributions help build lasting structures!
