Job Description

Summary:
The Field Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment within all ASSI operations. This role involves implementing and enforcing safety policies, performing site inspections, investigating incidents, and actively engaging with field personnel to foster a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in oil and gas field operations, a strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices, and excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Responsibilities:
Safety Program Implementation:
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's safety programs, policies, and procedures within field operations.
Safety Training and Education:
Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and other safety training sessions for field personnel in both English and Spanish. Ensure understanding and compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Site Inspections and Audits:
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of field locations, equipment, and work practices to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.1
Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:
Assist in identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and developing appropriate control measures.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses, and safety concerns. Prepare accurate and timely reports and assist in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Emergency Preparedness:
Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.
Communication and Collaboration:
Effectively communicate safety information, updates, and concerns to field personnel, management, and other stakeholders in both English and Spanish. Foster a collaborative safety culture through proactive engagement.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay up-to-date on relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT, EPA) and ensure company operations comply with these requirements.
Safety Equipment and PPE:
Monitor the proper use, maintenance, and inspection of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) in the field.
Record Keeping and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and organized safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, incident reports, and corrective actions.
Mentoring and Coaching:
Serve as a safety resource and mentor for field personnel, promoting safe work practices and behaviors.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of direct safety experience within the oil and gas field. This includes a strong understanding of drilling, completion, production, or related operations and their associated safety hazards. Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required. Must be able to effectively communicate safety information, conduct training, and interact with a diverse workforce in both languages. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards applicable to the oil and gas industry. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong2 problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office3 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR/AED) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP). Experience with safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001). Knowledge of specific oil and gas industry safety standards and best practices (e.g., API standards). Experience in conducting safety audits and inspections. Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to physically navigate oil and gas field locations, including uneven terrain and varying weather conditions. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods. May be required to work in outdoor environments and be exposed to various elements.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$70,983.00 - $75,521.00 per year
