Salt Lake City, UT Compensation:

$63,000 - $105,000 annually (based on education, experience, location, and skills), plus eligibility for annual cash bonus and stock incentives.

Position Type:

Fully remote field-based role serving the Salt Lake City, Utah territory. Open to both trainee and experienced candidates. About the Role A well-established property and casualty insurance carrier is seeking a Field Engineer to join its Machinery and Equipment Specialties department. This role is responsible for conducting boiler and pressure vessel inspections, managing a geographic territory, and serving as a technical resource to independent insurance agents and their clients. Key Responsibilities Conduct jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel certificate inspections within the assigned territory Manage territory operations efficiently and effectively Educate independent agents on marketing machinery and equipment coverage to their clients Serve as a professional resource to agents to help retain business and grow marketing efforts Deliver high-level claims service to local independent insurance agents Core Requirements (All Candidates) Strong time management and interpersonal communication skills Ability to remain composed and professional under pressure Self-directed; able to work independently without close supervision Ability to collaborate across internal departments Skill in preparing accurate, meaningful reports Valid driver's license Willingness to travel regularly within the territory For Trainee Candidates Engineering or technically-based bachelor's degree, OR qualifying boiler and pressure vessel work experience Strong customer service, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software For Experienced Candidates Machinery and equipment experience within a property and casualty insurance company (preferred) Strong knowledge of equipment breakdown coverages, related business lines, regulations, and consensus standards (preferred) Bachelor's degree relevant to the role, or equivalent experience and training National Board Commission, or the qualifications to obtain one promptly Strong consultative, organizational, and presentation skills Demonstrated commitment to continuing education What's Offered Competitive base pay with bonus and stock incentive potential Comprehensive benefits package Training and professional development for candidates new to the insurance industry Remote work flexibility (territory-based) Stable, established carrier with a relationship-driven culture Equal opportunity employer.
