Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Field Service Technician to join our team supporting mining, utility, and industrial power distribution equipment in the field. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, commissioning, and servicing customer equipment while delivering exceptional technical support and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, enjoys working in fast-paced environments, and thrives on solving technical challenges both independently and as part of a team. This position plays a critical role in minimizing customer downtime, supporting equipment reliability, and ensuring safe and efficient field operations. Responsibilities Perform field service visits to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and service mining, utility, and industrial products while ensuring customer satisfaction and minimal downtime. Provide start-up and commissioning support for new equipment installations to ensure proper operation and customer expectations are met. Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using prints, schematics, diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation. Conduct on-site customer training programs covering equipment operation, maintenance, and repair procedures. Provide technical support and service assistance to customers experiencing equipment issues in the field. Submit detailed field service reports, repair documentation, and service records accurately and timely. Assist with warranty repairs and support continuous improvement initiatives related to product reliability and performance. Provide feedback and recommendations to engineering teams regarding recurring equipment issues and potential design improvements. Participate in cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and customer service. Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, quality standards, and applicable MSHA regulations. Participate in Kaizen and other continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain regular attendance, work efficiently, and support overtime requirements as needed to support customer and operational demands. Work collaboratively with internal departments, customers, and fellow team members to support successful project execution and service operations. Perform additional duties and special assignments as directed by leadership. Required Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred. Five to seven years of experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting within mining, utility, industrial, or heavy equipment environments. Strong understanding of power distribution equipment and underground electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals. Working knowledge of MSHA regulations and PLC troubleshooting. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Ability to work independently in field environments while maintaining professionalism and customer focus. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Preferred Qualifications Underground Miner Certification / General Mining Certification. Electrical Underground Certification under MSHA Part 75.153. Electrical Surface Certification under MSHA Part 77.103. Previous field service or commissioning experience supporting industrial electrical equipment. Experience conducting customer training and technical presentations. Travel Requirements This position requires frequent travel to customer sites with approximately 80% overnight travel. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as required. Ability to travel throughout manufacturing facilities and customer sites to perform essential job duties.
