Job Description

Field Mechanic - Heavy Equipment We are looking for an experienced and dependable Field Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment both in the field and at the shop. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, capable of working independently, and comfortable operating a fully equipped service truck. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment Service and repair air conditioning systems Repair hydraulic systems, including packing cylinders and replacing hydraulic hoses Replace components such as starters, alternators, belts, hoses, and other parts Perform preventative maintenance (PM) services and inspections Complete undercarriage repairs and maintenance Perform light to moderate welding and fabrication as needed Respond to field service calls and perform on-site repairs safely and efficiently Operate and maintain a service truck, tools, and equipment Accurately document repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed Maintain a clean and organized work area both in the field and at the shop When not performing field service work, assist with repairs and maintenance at the shop while operating out of the service truck Qualifications Experience working on heavy equipment and Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems, and HVAC/AC systems Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems independently Welding and fabrication experience preferred Ability to safely operate a service truck and work in varying field conditions Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding environments Preferred Skills Experience with preventative maintenance programs Familiarity with construction or earthmoving equipment Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to prioritize multiple repair requests and manage time effectively What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Company service truck Steady, year-round work Opportunity for overtime Supportive team environment Growth opportunities within the company
Pay:
$25.00 - $50.00 per hour
