Field Service Technician (Fuel Systems)

www.balchpetroleum.com Balch Petroleum is a construction company that specializes in the demolition, install and servicing of fuel systems. Our service department keeps clients fuel systems running and operational. We are looking to hire a Service Technician who will diagnose repairs, make repairs, perform environmental testing, and be a designated operator. A designated operator performs monthly surveys of underground tank systems. This position is for a skilled service technician. We are looking for someone who can jump in and get to work!

Duties Include:

Conducting monthly UST inspections Reviewing the alarm history and ensuring alarms have been properly handled Completing a written report to document the inspection findings Making the facility owner aware of any issues that need additional follow-up Conducting annual employee training and maintaining training records Repair and maintenance of fuel dispensing equipment (fuel pump repair)

General:

All testing requires handling of petroleum products on a daily basis, constant stooping and bending, use of various hand tools, and specialty equipment. Some heavy lifting between 10 to 50 pounds is required on a daily basis. All Technicians are required to travel (driving). Long hours and overnight stays may be involved. Technicians are required to maintain all test equipment, tools, company vehicle, and follow all company policies. Technicians must be able to answer questions about testing, and speak with customers to resolve issues. Underground Storage Tank Inspection and Compliancy. Have attention to detail and follow up skills. The ability to observe and record site conditions. ICC Certified or willingness to complete test for ICC Certification. Prefer required knowledge and skills related to fuel systems Prefer knowledge of fuel monitoring systems such as Veeder Root or Incon. Must have a California driver's license and a clean DMV record.

Experience:

2 years experience as a fuel system technician required. Have attention to detail and follow up skills. The ability to observe and record site conditions. Looking for a career in / with a service and construction firm. Willingness to travel. Military Veterans is Plus! ICC Certified Knowledge and skills related to fuel systems Knowledge of fuel monitoring systems such as Veeder Root or Incon. Positive attitude and commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have a California drivers license and a clean DMV record. Need to be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Education & Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent California ICC certifications (California only)

Salary:

Based on experience.
