Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join Filer High School as an Assistant Principal. This full-time position requires a passionate educator who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment, supporting student achievement, and collaborating with faculty, staff, and parents. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of educational best practices, and a commitment to promoting a culture of excellence and inclusivity within the school community. Responsibilities Assist the Principal in the overall administration of the school, including daily operations and long-term planning. Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's educational programs and policies. Collaborate with teachers and staff to enhance instructional practices and improve student outcomes. Oversee student discipline, ensuring a safe and respectful environment conducive to learning. Engage with parents, guardians, and the community to foster strong relationships and support student success. Monitor and assess student progress, implementing intervention strategies as necessary. Assist in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of staff members. Facilitate professional development opportunities for faculty and staff. Coordinate extracurricular activities, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience for students. Participate in school committees and initiatives aimed at improving school culture and climate. Stay informed about educational trends, policies, and best practices to inform decision-making. Requirements Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field. Valid administrative credential or license as required by state regulations. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role preferred. Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and student assessment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders, including students, parents, and staff. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students. Proficient in the use of technology and educational software. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
