Staff Accountant

Job DescriptionJob Description Location Birmingham, Alabama Pay $20 to $26 per hour, depending on experience Schedule Full-time | In-office Work Setting In-office Accounting Complete is hiring a full-time Staff Accountant for our Birmingham office. We work with small businesses across Alabama and need someone who is accurate, dependable, comfortable with technology, and able to build strong relationships with clients while keeping the books clean. What You'll Do Maintain bookkeeping records for small business clients Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations Record journal entries and assist with monthly financial statements Prepare sales tax returns and related filings Assist with year-end close and required business filings Communicate with clients and team members about assigned work Support tax preparation and related accounting work as needed What We're Looking For 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online experience preferred Strong attention to detail and follow-through Comfort using accounting software, Excel, and general office technology Professional communication skills and a client-service mindset Knowledge of sales tax and payroll tax processes is a plus What We Offer Performance-based incentive opportunities Medical, dental, and retirement benefits Paid holidays and paid time off Flexible scheduling when needed Continuing education and a supportive team environment About Accounting Complete Accounting Complete is a CPA firm serving small businesses across Alabama.
