Job Description

Salary range is $55,080-$68,850 per year
Purpose of Position:
Collection and generation of management reports on the performance of the Demopolis manufacturing operations in terms of yields, spending and labor efficiencies.
Essential Job Functions:
Preparation of all daily and weekly plant performance reports including meat yields and labor efficiency reports and preparation of weekly P&L's for management. Research questions from management regarding weekly variances. Preparation of journal entries for period and year-end close and preparation of Accounts Payable accruals for the Plant. Prepare and explain period-end variances and comparative reports. Prepare account analysis worksheets and take corrective action to resolve any issues resulting from their preparation. Assist plant management in taking physical inventories on product and materials. Work with plant management to prepare and review Product Change Requests/SAP BOM changes that reflect the product flow and operating processes. Assist in preparing annual budgets and develop and update detailed desk procedures for all recurring job tasks. Train, develop and serve as back up for clerical position that reports to Staff Accountant.
Additional Job Functions:
Develop, analyze and provide plant management with appropriate analysis which reveals and defines problems that can be acted upon by management to reduce cost, gain efficiencies, and redirect efforts. Assist plant management and Accounting Manager in special assignments as needed. Special Projects as assigned Ad Hoc reporting upon request
Requirements:
B.S. degree in accounting or related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills- SAP, Excel, UKG, MII, and BW. Two-four years accounting experience. Must have the ability to understand complex costing models. Be a self-starter, detail-oriented and well organized. Have the ability to work within strict timeframes in order to meet deadlines. Analytical ability and experience Plant accounting experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to have consistent attendance. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to work on the computer for long periods of time.
