Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with 3-5 years of experience in tax planning and tax preparation. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, developing tax strategies, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations, and providing exceptional client service. Candidates who are actively pursuing or willing to obtain their CPA certification are strongly preferred. Experience with CCH Axcess Tax is a plus. Key Responsibilities Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other business entities. Assist clients with proactive tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance. Research tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate tax filings and recommendations. Communicate with clients to gather financial information and address tax-related questions. Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide recommendations based on client needs. Review financial records and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Assist with tax notices, audits, and correspondence from taxing authorities. Ensure timely completion of tax filings and adherence to all applicable deadlines. Maintain organized client records and documentation. Stay current on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and industry best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required. 3-5 years of experience in accounting with a strong emphasis on tax planning and tax preparation . Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations. Experience preparing individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Actively pursuing or willing to obtain CPA certification. Experience using CCH Axcess Tax software is a plus. Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software preferred. Familiarity with tax research tools and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
