ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE
Jasper Lumber Company, LLC - Jasper, AL EOE Jasper Lumber Company, LLC, a producer of top-quality Southern Yellow Pine lumber, is owned by Tolko Industries, a well-established, growth-oriented forest products company. As part of Tolko's continued investment and growth, our Jasper operation offers exciting career opportunities in a dynamic manufacturing environment. We are currently seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our accounting team. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this will support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, assist with reconciliations, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys working with numbers, has strong organizational skills, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Process accounts payable invoices, vendor payments, and expense reports.
  • Assist with accounts receivable activities, customer invoicing, and payment application.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Assist with inventory accounting, cycle counts, and physical inventory reconciliations.
  • Track and reconcile lumber, log, and finished goods inventory transactions.
  • Assist in monitoring manufacturing costs, production variances, and cost allocations.
  • Prepare inventory and production-related reports for management.
  • Analyze production data and identify discrepancies affecting financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and production departments to ensure accurate inventory movement and cost tracking.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience, preferably in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred Strong customer service and relationship-building skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Reliable, dependable, and committed to maintaining a strong work ethic
