Troy - T01 Job Summary The Staff Accountant position acts as accounting liaison with the Controller's Office and other departments and external agencies with respect to financial reporting, tax reporting & compliance, journal entry preparation, audit/reconciliation of accounts, and audit of requests for payment. The position is responsible for preparing and reviewing all types of transactions in compliance with approved budgets and University/department procedures, preparation of appropriate reports as needed for analysis, corresponding with other departments concerning accounting and financial information, and determining proper handling of financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and approving within designated limits, policies or contracts. Minimum Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in Accounting Experience in a higher education setting. Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
