Meet the team:
The Senior Cost Accountant (Senior Cost Accountant - Inventory & Standard Costing) ensures the integrity of inventory valuation and manufacturing costing through in-depth analysis of inventory transactions, standard costs, and production variances. This role partners with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, IT, and Finance to strengthen inventory controls, govern cost-related master data (BOMs and routings), and proactively troubleshoot and correct ERP transactional issues. The Senior Cost Accountant supports accurate COGS reporting and period-end close through rigorous reconciliations, complex journal entries, cycle count and physical inventory oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance transactional discipline and financial compliance. You will help ensure accurate inventory valuation and COGS reporting, strengthen manufacturing cost controls, and provide insights that support better operational and financial decisions. You'll have end-to-end ownership of standard costing and cost-related master data governance (BOMs/routings), with the autonomy to identify issues, drive root-cause fixes, and implement improvements that strengthen costing accuracy.
Where you come in:
Transactional Integrity & Troubleshooting Review inventory and manufacturing transactions; investigate variances and resolve exceptions to ensure accurate accounting. Troubleshoot ERP (Oracle) issues and execute/coordinate transaction corrections (inventory, WIP, and work orders), documenting root cause and corrective action. Inventory Controls (Cycle Counts & Physical Inventory) Lead cycle counts and physical inventories; reconcile results, investigate variances, and drive corrective actions. Standard Costing & Master Data Governance Maintain standard costs (cost updates/cost roll), validate key inputs (BOMs, routings, rates/overhead), and assess impacts to inventory and COGS. Govern BOM and routing changes for financial impact, ensuring controls/documentation and resolving master data issues that drive usage/yield/cost variances.

Close, Reconciliations & Reporting Prepare/review inventory account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items (RM, WIP, FG, & reserves). Prepare/post inventory-related journal entries and support an accurate, on-time period-end close. Analytics, Compliance & Continuous Improvement Analyze cost drivers (Absorption, yield/scrap, E&O) and communicate insights and recommendations to business partners. Support SOX/internal/external audits and partner cross-functionally to remediate control gaps and improve processes and transactional discipline.
What makes you successful:
You have experience supporting manufacturing/operations and understanding inventory flows, work orders, and production transactions, including the master data (BOMs/routings) that drives costs. You have advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas) and can turn large data sets into clear, actionable insights. You have strong ERP experience (Oracle preferred), including standard costing fundamentals (cost updates/cost roll), and can research issues, identify root causes, and execute or coordinate transactional corrections. You communicate effectively across Finance and Operations, can influence process and master data governance, are comfortable supporting audits, and have BI/reporting tools experience (Tableau and/or Hyperion is a plus). What you'll get: A front row seat to life changing CGM technology. Learn about our brave #dexcomwarriors community. A full and comprehensive benefits program. Growth opportunities on a global scale. Access to career development through in-house learning programs and/or qualified tuition reimbursement. An exciting and innovative, industry-leading organization committed to our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.
