They support diverse programs funded through a combination of government contracts, grants, donations, and program revenue. The finance team plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and transparency across the organization's operations. Position Overview The Senior Staff Accountant is a key contributor within the Accounting & Finance team, responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial activities. Reporting to the CFO, this role provides oversight and review of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Staff Accountant functions, while supporting the general ledger, month‑end close, audits, and financial reporting. The position operates within a complex, multi‑fund environment and requires strong attention to detail, organization, and collaboration. Key Responsibilities Core Accounting & Oversight Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations across AP, AR, and Staff Accountant functions Review invoices, payments, deposits, allocations, journal entries, and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance Maintain integrity of the general ledger and support month‑end and year‑end close processes Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation Financial Reporting & Compliance Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting Prepare supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards Support restricted and unrestricted fund accounting, including grants and deferred revenue Assist with financial reports related to contracts, grants, and funding sources Process Improvement & Systems Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, documentation, and controls Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems and automation tools Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Collaboration & Leadership Support Partner with Program, HR, Operations, and Development teams to ensure accurate coding and timely processing Provide technical guidance and day‑to‑day support to accounting staff Promote consistency, quality, and a collaborative team environment

Qualifications Education:
