Fairchild Freight - 3.6 Phoenix, AZ Job Details Full-time 1 hour ago Benefits Paid holidays Dental insurance Paid time off Cell phone reimbursement Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description The Staff Accountant will support the accounting and finance functions of the organization through month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, contract administration, and analysis of financial data. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with approximately 2 years of experience who is looking to grow within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Essential Job Functions Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice coding, approval coordination, invoice entry, and payment processing. Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. Monitor and reconcile daily cash activity between bank accounts and accounting systems. Prepare recurring daily, weekly, and monthly operational and financial reports. Support revenue recognition and contract administration processes. Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information within accounting systems. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to support business operations and financial reporting needs. Maintain organized accounting documentation and records in compliance with company policies and procedures. Train and mentor accounting staff and provide work direction. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes. High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis functions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is preferred. Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accounts payable, journal entries, and financial reporting preferred. Experience working within transportation, logistics, or service-based industries is a plus.
