Tax Staff Accountant

Your Role:
Primary responsibilities consist of the preparation of tax returns, tax filings, and supporting work papers, state & federal tax registrations, and monthly tax reconciliations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning, preparation, review, and filing of federal, state, local and foreign business tax returns & supporting documents to comply with tax regulations. Assist with the preparation and review of the ASC 740 tax provision and tax processes, including year-end reporting and the return to accrual process. Conduct basic tax research, respond to tax notices & resolve open tax issues. Provide support on special tax projects, tax planning and preparation. Prepare draft responses for internal and external audits of tax returns, tax notices, regulatory filings, and internal controls for management review and approvals. Support monthly and quarterly reconciliation of sales and corporate income tax accounts. Train and guide staff tax accountants on projects and processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, or related field with 5+ years of experience including but not limited to sales and use taxes, corporate/income/franchise tax, business and personal property tax, unclaimed property, and other business taxes.

Abilities:
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office & ERP software, preferably SAP. Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to coordinate and the completion of multiple work assignments and/or projects. Problem-solving and the ability meet department deadlines. Knowledge of tax research methods with ability to interpret tax laws.? Ability to provide technical assistance and training to co-workers.
