Position Summary The Accounting Services Associate provides day-to-day accounting support to clients and internal teams. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, support reporting processes, and ensuring timely and high-quality client deliverables. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Accounting Services Associate responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Prepare and maintain journal entries, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports and supporting schedules. Prepare client financial statements and reports for management review. Prepare and submit required filings, including Forms 1099, sales and use tax returns, business property statements (571-L), and other government filings. Support internal team members in completing client projects and deliverables. Communicate proactively with clients and team members regarding project status, deadlines, and questions. Respond to basic accounting, bookkeeping, and software-related inquiries and escalate issues as appropriate. Identify and communicate workflow challenges, process improvements, and inefficiencies. Maintain strict confidentiality of client, employee, payroll, tax, and financial information in accordance with Company policy and applicable law. Stay current with accounting software and technology and pursue training or certifications as directed. Meet client service expectations, deadlines, quality standards, and budget requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of two (2) years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred. Experience in a professional services or public accounting environment is preferred. Skills & Knowledge Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop; QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A valid California driver's license and reliable transportation may be required if travel to client locations is necessary. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer workstation. Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, calculator, telephone, and other standard office equipment for extended periods. Ability to speak, hear, read, write, and communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 15 pounds. Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the office or client worksite. This position primarily works in an office environment and may occasionally require travel to client locations. Additional hours and overtime will be required during peak periods ("busy season"). Compensation (California Pay Transparency) The hourly pay range for this position is $22.00 to $28.00 per hour, with eligibility for paid overtime. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skills, certifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
