Type:

full-time We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity with a great organization in the Placentia area. This position will provide hands-on accounting support across general ledger activities, account and bank reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end close. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts. Perform bank and account reconciliations and research discrepancies. Assist with month-end and year-end close. Reconcile AP and AR activity to the general ledger. Prepare financial reports and track revenues and expenditures against budget. Assist with annual audit schedules and supporting documentation. Review accounting transactions for accuracy, proper coding, and documentation. Support additional accounting and finance projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of professional accounting experience. Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. Governmental or fund accounting experience is a plus. Knowledge of GAAP and exposure to GASB preferred. Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
