Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level accounting professional to build a strong foundation in construction accounting while gaining hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, job costing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, comfortable working with numbers, and eager to learn the accounting processes unique to the construction industry.

Supplemental Insurance available (voluntary life, short/long term disability, accident, critical illness, etc.) Gym reimbursement Tuition Reimbursement Duties and Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records. Process and review accounts payable invoices, including matching invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documentation. Enter and maintain accounting transactions in the company's accounting software. Assist with monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations. Support month-end and year-end closing activities. Assist with job costing, including reviewing project expenses, labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and other job-related expenditures. Maintain business licenses for various cities Assist with subcontractor and vendor account maintenance and payment processing. Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation. Assist with W-9s, insurance certificates, lien releases, and other construction-related documentation as needed. Support the Controller and Accounting Manager with audits, financial reporting, and special projects. Communicate with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and other internal departments to resolve accounting questions. Maintain confidentiality of company financial and employee information. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Ability to act with accountability, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time-management skills. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to learn accounting and construction management software. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Professional, dependable, and willing to learn. Ability to act with accountability, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent education or experience may be considered. 0-2 years of accounting experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus
Physical Requirements:

Pay:
$24.00 - $29.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
