The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, solid knowledge of payables and receivables activity, and the ability to work effectively across multiple priorities in a mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Examine cash receipt activity and accounts payable batches to confirm proper coding, timely posting, and compliance with established accounting policies.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close tasks, prepare financial statements, and distribute reports within required reporting timelines.
  • Partner with field and program personnel to recognize grant revenue correctly, including accruals, billing support, and related reporting activities.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding variances promptly.
  • Serve as a finance point of contact for supported locations by addressing questions related to payables, receipts, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor capital and deferred maintenance projects to help ensure costs are tracked and recorded appropriately.
  • Support audits and budget preparation by assembling schedules, performing research, training staff on accounting procedures, and providing backup coverage for other accounting team members as needed.
