POSITION OVERVIEW

The Staff Accountant (Non-Profit) plays a key role in supporting daily accounting operations with a strong focus on high-volume Accounts Payable. This position works across multi-entity and grant-funded environments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting and brings a strong foundation in nonprofit accounting practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable including vendor setup, invoice processing, approvals, and payments in a high-volume environment Ensure accurate coding and allocation of expenses across multiple entities and grant-funded programs Reconcile A/P aging, vendor statements, prepaid accounts, accruals, and general ledger accounts Process credit card transactions and maintain expense tracking systems, resolving discrepancies as needed Prepare 1099/1096 filings, audit schedules, and support documentation for compliance and reporting Maintain compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and funding requirements while supporting cash management activities

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in high-volume Accounts Payable within a nonprofit organization (required) Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting, including multi-entity and grant environments Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills Ability to reconcile accounts, analyze discrepancies, and work independently Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position offers an hourly pay range of $34.00-$37.50 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan participation, paid time off, and holidays.
