Full Job Description Summary:
The Senior Accountant oversees complex accounting activities, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports strategic decision-making through analysis and insight. This role manages month-end close processes, maintains compliance with GAAP, and collaborates across departments to strengthen financial operations.
Essential Functions:
Lead month-end and year-end close including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation. Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Oversee general ledger activities and ensure proper classification of transactions. Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries. Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing data-driven insights and recommendations. Review work of junior accountants, offering guidance, training, and quality control. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and resolve accounting issues. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Assistance to the CFO and Accounting Manager as needed. Regular attendance. Travel and work overtime as required.

Mental and Physical Demands:
Experiences frequent interruptions; required to meet inflexible deadlines; requires concentration and attention to detail; requires a high level of organizational and prioritization skills; may occasionally deal with difficult individuals. Requires ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of information received. Required to sit for prolonged periods; exposed to visual display terminal for prolonged periods; dexterity and precision required in the operation of a computer. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities except as may be assigned from time to time.
Core Competencies/Qualifications:
Commitment to the Company's mission. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (Appfolio experience a plus). Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. Financial analysis and problem-solving. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Background in property management or construction a preferred. Experience improving or implementing accounting processes and systems.
