Guan's Mushroom is seeking a hands-on Senior Accounting Manager to support our growing multi-entity operations. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, month-end close, year-end close, inventory accounting, cash management, and process improvement initiatives while leading a small accounting team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is eager to learn our business, understand our current processes, and help strengthen the accounting function as the company continues to grow. This position requires someone who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, develop staff, and partner closely with operations and business leaders throughout the organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional seeking a long-term career opportunity with growth potential in a dynamic and growing organization.Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations. Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity. Assist with preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reports. Analyze financial results and investigate significant variances. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Multi-Entity Accounting Oversee accounting activities for multiple legal entities. Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Support consolidated financial reporting. Ensure consistency and accuracy across all business units. Cash Management Oversee reconciliation of multiple operating bank accounts. Monitor daily cash activity and account balances. Investigate and resolve banking discrepancies. Support cash flow reporting and analysis. Coordinate banking transactions and account administration. Inventory & Operational Accounting Oversee inventory accounting for farm and distribution operations. Review inventory reconciliations and adjustments. Support product costing, freight allocations, and operational reporting. Utilize Produce Pro reporting and transaction data to support accounting accuracy and business analysis. Work closely with operations teams to ensure inventory and financial records remain accurate. Team Leadership Supervise, mentor, and develop 3-5 accounting team members. Review staff work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Assist with employee training, development, and performance management. Foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the accounting department. Process Improvement Learn current accounting and operational processes. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls. Assist in developing standardized procedures and documentation. Support reporting enhancements and system improvements. Audit & Compliance Support annual audits and tax preparation activities. Maintain supporting schedules and documentation. Assist with internal controls and compliance initiatives. Ensure adherence to company accounting policies and procedures. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with operations, sales, purchasing, and leadership teams. Support business initiatives and special projects. Build strong working relationships throughout the organization. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP. Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience. Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate and timely financial information. Preferred Experience in produce, agriculture, food manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or other inventory-intensive industries. Multi-entity accounting experience. Experience managing multiple bank accounts. Experience with Produce Pro or similar ERP systems. CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required. Language Skills Fluency in both English and Mandarin is required Mandarin language proficiency is highly desirable to facilitate communication with customers, vendors, and cross-functional business partners.
