This position supports our tax department and involves handling various tax-related tasks and responsibilities. You will assist in tax operations and perform the following duties:
Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.
Assist in the preparation of tax provision calculations and related financial statement disclosures.
Preparer work-papers from QuickBooks Online work files.
Conduct research on tax issues and provide findings to senior tax staff.
Monitor and ensure compliance with tax filing deadlines and requirements.
Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation.
Assist in responding to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
Support the Senior Tax Accountant in tax planning and strategy development.
Participate in tax audits and assist in the preparation of audit documentation.
Identify opportunities for tax process improvements and contribute to their implementation.
Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the companys tax position.
Qualifications for
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) requiredMinimum of 2 years of tax accounting experience.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in tax software (Lacerte) and ERP systems; intermediate Excel skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
