Job Description
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting activities using Sage 100, ensuring timely processing across payables, receivables, general ledger activity, and related financial records. Handle month-end close tasks by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing accurate financial reporting for management review. Monitor inventory-related accounting and purchasing transactions, supporting accurate valuation, order tracking, and wholesale operations. Review financial entries and supporting documentation to verify accuracy, maintain internal controls, and reduce processing errors. Assist with payroll, commission tracking, cash flow monitoring, and sales tax administration to support smooth financial operations. Provide day-to-day guidance and hands-on support to a small accounting team to help keep priorities on schedule and work completed accurately. Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting, purchasing, and inventory issues in a timely and practical manner. Recommend and document process improvements that strengthen accounting procedures and increase the effective use of Sage 100. At least 6 years of progressive accounting experience in roles with broad operational responsibility. Strong hands-on experience with Sage 100 in a day-to-day accounting environment. Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze, organize, and reconcile large volumes of financial data. Solid knowledge of month-end close procedures, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. Experience supporting inventory and wholesale accounting activities, including purchasing-related transactions. Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow tracking, payroll support, and sales tax processes. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accuracy and accountability. Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small accounting team.
