Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Irvine, California on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position will play an important role in keeping daily accounting operations on track, with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable, month-end activities, and audit support. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience managing high-volume transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and working effectively in a fast-paced office environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts receivable activities by recording incoming payments, reconciling deposits, researching customer account questions, and monitoring outstanding balances.
  • Process large volumes of remittance information and accurately allocate payments across multiple invoices, orders, or customer accounts.
  • Support the month-end close by preparing journal entries, recording accruals, completing account reconciliations, and maintaining detailed backup schedules.
  • Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations to help ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Partner with the team to respond to audit requests by gathering documentation, organizing support files, and assisting with follow-up items.
  • Help maintain continuity within the accounting department by providing dependable support during staffing shortages and prioritizing critical deadlines.
  • Contribute to improving and stabilizing accounts receivable workflows to strengthen consistency, accuracy, and timely follow-through.
  • Communicate progress regularly, work independently on assigned tasks, and raise thoughtful questions when clarification is needed.
