This role supports day-to-day accounting and financial operations for a real estate portfolio and related entities, offering hands-on exposure to property accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, cash management, construction accounting, and lender draw processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional, accounting student, recent graduate, or developing AP/AR professional who wants to move beyond basic data entry and build a strong foundation in real estate accounting. The Accounting Associate will work closely with an experienced team that provides training, guidance, and exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities. A successful candidate can grow into roles such as Junior Accountant, Staff Accountant, Property Accountant, or Senior Property Accountant as they gain experience managing the full monthly accounting cycle for assigned properties. Key Responsibilities Process vendor invoices, code expenses to the correct property, entity, account, and project, maintain supporting documentation, and assist with weekly check runs. Support accounts receivable functions, including tenant ledger management, payment posting, outstanding balance tracking, AR reporting, and reconciliation to the general ledger. Assist with accounting for multiple real estate properties and related entities, including management fees, leasing commissions, reimbursements, intercompany activity, and property-level expenses. Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, research discrepancies, match transactions to receipts, and maintain accurate reconciliation workbooks. Support month-end close and financial reporting, including general ledger review, account reconciliations, journal entry support, prepaid expenses, cash balances, and budget-to-actual reporting. Assist with construction accounting and lender draw documentation, including invoice organization, draw schedules, project expenditure tracking, reserves, and reconciliation of draws to accounting records.

Compensation and Benefits Salary range:

$70,000 to $75,000 per year.
